X 2022-A4 - The Feather Project: Making Feathers - 10/1

Join Maggie for a crafty experience making paper feathers for The Feather Project. These feathers will be part of a community art installation, hanging from the ceiling of the Art Center for the Aware 22 exhibition in November. The feathers will honor Native Americans affected by the government’s Indian Boarding Schools initiative from the 1890s through the 1980s, both survivors and those who did not survive. Participants should bring as many materials as they wish, and additional materials will be provided. We are hoping for at least 1000 feathers!

Suggested materials: magazine paper, scrapbooking paper, junk mail envelopes, hand-made paper, card-stock, unwanted paintings on paper or canvas, any other type of paper, string, yarn, thread, wooden beads, glass beads, markers, paint, ink pens, ribbon, glue, scissors, stamps, collage supplies, etc.

All skill levels, beginners and “non-artists” will enjoy this class.
