Find Your Path in Abstract Art - Beginner to Intermediate with Kym Long Wallace

Saturday & Sunday, July 19th - July 20th, 12:00pm - 2:00pm (2-day workshop)

Class Description:

Are you curious about how to make fun, exciting abstract art that you like? Come explore with us! Whether you are a total beginner or have some experience, this workshop will help you find your path.

We will learn:

• value contrast and color (design)
• How to use acrylic paint and collage
• mark making
• how to use different tools to get cool effects

Most importantly, we will learn that play and exploration are the greatest teachers and result in the strongest work.

Supplies Needed:

• 3-4 acrylic paint colors plus black and white (You can bring more colors if you want) Any brand is fine, they do not need to be expensive.
• Paint brushes in a variety of sizes 2 inches and smaller (Any brand, expensive brushes not needed)
• Any mark making tools you have (palette knives, pens, pencils, crayons, wedges, sticks, old credit cards, etc.)
• Art paper (100 lb. preferred, copy/printer paper will not work)
• Sturdy container for water

The instructor will provide birch panels, art tape, palette paper, and collage materials)
