Virginia Beach Art Center - Pottery Studio

For all age groups, this class explores a variety of hand building techniques used to create basic to complex forms. All skill levels are welcome, and every artist is encouraged to share unique approaches and finished pieces.

The outcomes a student will walk away from the class having been demonstrated the pinch and pull method, coil, slip and scoring using clay. In addition, students will learn the slab method in clay with additive and subtractive methods using clay to create a 3D object. Glazing techniques will also be taught.

Class includes 40-hours of Open Studio time for students to work on their projects outside of class. Open Studio access ends 2 weeks after the class ends unless student is signed up for another session.

A 25 lb. block of clay comes with the class, and more is available for purchase. No outside clay is allowed.

Shelf must be cleared the last day of class unless student is signed up for another session.
