Watercolor Painting for Beginners Workshop
Saturday and Sunday, December 14th - December 15th, 11:00am - 3:00pm (2 day workshop)
Age: 15+
Class description: This course will cover basic watercolor techniques and provide one-on-one, tailor-made instruction to students. Day 1: Students will learn about their materials, color, and how to work from reference images. Day 2: Students will work from a photo of their choice during the second day. It's highly recommended that students prepare drawings in advance to work on. Students can bring in more than one drawing to work on.
Supplies:
One Arches 9x12 pad 140 lb. Cold Press watercolor paper. (Please purchase this brand)
One Watercolor palette. A White Ceramic or metal tray. Ceramic palettes are easier to clean.
Paper towels
Kneaded Eraser
Drawing Pencils
Pencil Sharpener
Mechanical Pencil (0.5mm) Pentel or Staedtler brand
A cup for water
Brushes: Highly recommend a set of round Synthetic Kolinsky brushes or Sable brushes of various sizes. 3-5 brushes of various sizes. The instructor uses Escoda Versatil Synthetic Kolinsky Travel Brushes. Synthetic Kolinsky brushes are an affordable option over Sable brushes. The Princeton Aqua Elite Series 4850 Synthetic Kolinsky Watercolor Paint Brush 4 Piece Set is an affordable starter set. Amazon has this 4 piece set for under $40 at the moment.
