Acrylic Painting Class with Lee Swallie
Mondays, May 6 – June 24, 10:30am – 12:30pm (8 classes)

Age: 18yr+

Skill Level: All

Discover the essence of color theory, master the art of paint mixing and application, and explore the expressive realm of brushwork inspired by the legendary impressionists of the 19th century, such as Monet and Cezanne. Join our painting class and delve into a journey where tradition meets innovation, and creativity knows no bounds.

Lee Swallie studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and Savannah College of Art and Design.

BRUSHES & TOOLS: Filbert Style Brush Set – as long as it has a variety of large to small. Any round brushes #2 and #4. Any Trowel shaped palette knife, rags, sponges, water cups, paper towels

PAINTS: Liquitex, Winsor & Newton, or Goldens – Heavy body is preferred but not necessary, 4 oz for each color and 8 oz for white. (Budget option: Liquitex Basics at 2 oz. each)

PALETTES: Paper palette or plexiglass, glass or any handheld preferred palette – paper is preferred for easier disposal and clean up

CANVAS: small packs of 5x7, 7x9, and 8x10 canvas panels/boards (typically comes in packs of 3-5 *budget option just get 1-2 of each size), one 11x14 stretched canvas and one 9x12 canvas paper pad

OPTIONAL MATERIALS: 8 oz. Jar of modeling paste, 8 oz slow drying medium, 4 oz Gloss Varnish Acrylic Medium, Palette Wetting Medium (Liquitex or Winsor Newton)
