Class Description:
This class is a continuation of the watercolor journey for students who have taken Beginner Watercolor OR have some previous experience with Watercolor.
We will explore various techniques while creating several paintings during the 4 classroom sessions. Demonstrations will be part of each class. Being able to draw is NOT a requirement for being successful at watercolor painting! Those who are comfortable drawing and sketching are encouraged to do so, but the use of graphite paper, Saral, or a light box is also acceptable.
Come join us for a few hours of creativity and fun each week!
Supplies:
1. An 8x10 or 9x12 Block or Pad of 140 lb Cold Press 100% cotton Watercolor paper. *The instructor recommends Saunders Waterford, Arches (the only company that makes the 8x10 size block) or Fabriano Artistico.
2. Inexpensive 9x12 Cold Press Watercolor paper to be used as practice/scratch paper.
3. A sealable watercolor palette. *The Instructor recommends the Masterson Aqua-Pro Watercolor palette with 40 wells OR the Mijello Fusion Palette with 18 wells.
4. A set of quality, student grade (such as a Winsor Newton Cotman) or professional watercolor paint in tubes. These can already be in your sealable palette from previous classes. * Instructor prefers watercolor paint tubes, NOT 1/2 pans. Low quality paint such as Marie's or Artists Loft are not recommended.
5. Watercolor Round Brush size 8 or 10.
6. Pencil
7. Vanish Eraser & kneaded eraser
8. Small Spray/Spritzer bottle
9. Water container (1 or 2 containers)
10. Roll of Paper towels (White/no prints) *Instructor recommends Viva Signature for its soft, pliability
11. Ruler
