Connect with Clay - October Family Class
Connect with Clay is a free program open exclusively to military-connected members of our community. Our family classes are geared towards military children (ages 8 to 17) with a participating parent, guardian or military-affiliated adult.
Being a military family comes with unique challenges, and we believe that exploring your creativity can help you face those challenges. Clay is a unique medium that is both calming, invigorating, and fun!
The October Family Class meets on:
- Saturday, October 7, 10 am - noon and
- Saturday, October 28, 10 am - 11:30 am
Skill Level: Beginner
Children age: 8 to 17* with a participating parent, guardian or military-affiliated adult.
Up to 2 children can be brought per adult. If you would like to bring more than 2 children, please invite another military-affiliated adult to participate with you.
* If your child is 18 or older, then please sign up for one of our adult classes.
Each participant needs a ticket: for example, one adult, plus two children = 3 tickets
This is a 2-week class:
- Week 1 - You will be taught how to throw on the wheel and hand-building techniques using clay slabs. You will be completing both a hand-building project and a project on the pottery wheel.
- Week 2 - You will be introduced to glazing and surface-design techniques and use these techniques on your pieces from week one.
Your pieces will be fired and finished, and you will be notified when your pieces are ready to be picked up.
