Mondays, November 9th - December 14th, 10:00am - 1:00pm (6-week class)
Ages:18 and older
Class description:
Explore the beauty and changing moods of nature through watercolor as we move from the rich colors of late autumn into the quiet beauty of winter. This class is designed for artist with some watercolor experience who are ready to build their skills while creating expressive paintings inspired by nature.
Through a series of seasonal projects, we will explore color, value, light, shadow, texture, and composition while capturing the unique character of each season. We’ll experiment with techniques to create paintings that feel fresh, luminous, and full of atmosphere.
Students will have the opportunity to work from reference photographs, and demonstrations, while developing their own interpretation of each scene. Emphasis will be placed on creating strong values, interesting backgrounds, and the effects of seasonal light.
Come enjoy the changing seasons through watercolor and discover new ways to bring nature, light, and atmosphere to your paintings.
