The Granny Square Market Bag - The Art of Crochet with Fidgety Stitchety's Scarlet Mosley

Thursdays, September 10th - October 1st, 10:00am - 12:00pm (4-week class)

ALL LEVELS - CHILDREN 10 AND OVER WELCOME!

Join us in learning the lifelong skill of crochet while creating a one-of-a-kind market bag!

This project is perfect for beginners and experienced crocheters, alike.

Each student is met where they are skill wise, adding new skills as previous skills are mastered.

A very flexible outline of this series:

Sept 10: Day 1: Learn beginner stitches: slip knot, chain stitch, double crochet. Then we will start on our first granny square. Those who already know how to make a basic granny square, may start on the flower granny square.

Sept 17: Day 2: Refresher on previous lesson then continue on with the granny squares. As students become comfortable in the stitches, more stitches and techniques will be added.

Sept 24th: Day 3: Learn how to connect the squares with single crochet stitches and start on the straps.

October 1: Day 4: Wrap up class working on whatever students need help with in order to complete their project.

This project will require some crochet time outside of class in order for it to be complete by the end of the 4-week series. This class is good for beginners and experienced Crocheters alike. Those who already know how to make a single crochet stitch, will start the granny square on the first day. For those new to crochet, the first lesson will be all basics, and the second lesson will be how to make a granny square.

Materials needed:

Size 5mm hook

Worsted weight yarn: 2 skeins

I recommend the Bernat Makers Splash yarn, especially for beginners. It’s easier than acrylic yarn. The splash is variegated so you get coordinated colors in each skein. They also have solid color yarn.
