Painting for Inner Peace - Sumi-e - Asian Brush Painting with Soonja Woo Cho
Tuesdays, August 4th - September 8th, 10:00am - 11:30am (6-week class)
All Skill Levels are Welcome
Explore basic principles of Asian Brush Painting. Learn how harmony, beauty and balance can be combined to produce eloquent images. This class is designed to "build inner peace and beauty".
Supply List:
- bamboo brush (classic sumi-e brush)
- liquid sumi-ink
- rice paper for practice, semi-sized
Additional Supplies:
- palette(6-8inch) or multiple white plates(3-8inch) as a palette
- Felt (about 24x36 inches), or any absorbent solid color fabric with no nap
- Paper Towel or rag
- Paper weights, flat river rocks work well
- Water Bowl
Note: Sumi-e brushes are unique in their sharp tip and firm body, which allow for a variety of fine lines and strokes.
There are Asian brush painting kits and supplies sold on Amazon, Jerry's Artorama and other art supply venues as well.
