Virginia Beach Art Center - Pottery Studio

Description of the class:

Let there be light! All our projects will center around bringing a bit of brightness to your world. Using hand building techniques, we will create items such as candlestick holders, luminaries, lanterns, wall sconces, small lamps, and hanging lights. Various forms of surface design will be introduced, including working with colored clay. Pieces will be constructed by using slab, coil, and pinch pot methods, with opportunities to add sculptural elements.

The class is suitable for beginner to experienced students.

All classes include a 10-visit punch card for Open Studio time for students to work on projects between classes. Open Studio access ends 10 weeks from the date of the first class.

A 25 lb. block of clay comes with the class, and more is available for purchase. No outside clay is allowed.

Supplies needed: pottery tools, apron, towel and small notebook
