Class Description:
Take your watercolor journey to the next level with our Two-Day Watercolor Studio Workshop. Designed for artists who have started exploring the medium and those ready to continue growing their skills.
This workshop offers a blend of technique-focused learning and personalized guidance. On Day 1, you'll refine your understanding of essential tools and techniques through demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and group discussions. By Day 2, come prepared with your own project or artwork to develop further under the expert guidance of our instructor, who will provide tailored feedback and creative support.
Whether you're building confidence in your abilities or seeking to expand your artistic vision, this workshop is a supportive space to grow, experiment, and deepen your passion for watercolor painting.
Supplies:
One Arches 9x12 pad or larger. 140 lb. Cold Press watercolor paper (Please purchase this brand)
One Watercolor palette. A large white ceramic palette is highly recommended.
Paper towels
Kneaded Eraser
Drawing Pencils
Pencil Sharpener
Mechanical Pencil (0.5mm) Pentel or Staedtler brand
A cup for water
Brushes: Highly recommend a set of round Synthetic Kolinsky brushes or Sable brushes of various sizes. 3-5 brushes of various sizes. The instructor uses Escoda Versatil Synthetic Kolinsky Travel Brushes. Synthetic Kolinsky brushes are an affordable option over Sable brushes.
Recommended Watercolor tubes. Suggested colors from Daniel Smith (small tubes. 5ml/17fl oz):
Burnt Umber
Raw Sienna
Sap Green
New Gamboge
Lemon Yellow
Ultramarine Blue
Phthalo Blue
Alizarin Crimson
Quinacridone Red
Cadmium Red
Payne's Grey
Ivory Black
Titanium White
or 10/12 set of Winsor & Newton Cotman Watercolor tubes. An affordable alternative.
