How to Professionally Frame Your Art & Navigate Online Art Show Entries with Sue Lichacz
Sunday, June 7th, 1:30pm - 4:00pm (1 day workshop)
This workshop is for those who want to learn how to frame their art behind glass (watercolors, pastels, mixed media). This is a great opportunity to learn how to prepare your painting for art show entries as well as for sale.
Workshop Description: You will learn about acid free mats & backing, how to properly attach your art to a mat, how and when to use a point driver, dust cover vs. framing tape. Students will also learn how to properly affix D-ring hangers at the correct height and secure hanging wire as required by art shows. You are encouraged to bring your artwork (only 1 painting per student), an acid-free precut mat that fits your artwork, a purchased frame the size of the mat, D-ring hangers (see the Supply List for a specific brand preferred) and the instructor will assist you in assembling your masterpiece.
There will be a discussion on titling your art and drafting an Artist Statement as well as pricing your art.The instructor will also assist students in navigating the online “Artist Call” to enter their artwork.
Sue will supply framing tape (not available locally, but for those who want to order in advance, Jerry’s Artarama online- Tape-It 2” Flat Adhesive Tape-Brown or White. *Sue uses the Brown tape).
